Soro Laue Gervais set out to be a doctor. A turn at a mortuary changed his mind. He taught himself to sew from scraps during a tailor's lunch breaks, opened a small shop in Côte d'Ivoire, and in 2011 moved to Windhoek — bringing with him a quietly held philosophy: every body has its own shape, and a garment's job is to honour it.
Today, VANIAH's employs seven tailors. The Namibian newspaper called Soro one of the best tailors in Namibia. We've been quietly building on that since.
